Today is the first day of the summer semester. I'm taking math and biology. I'm going to chain myself to my violin and practice several hours a day. I'm going to drag my lazy ass across campus to the gym and workout. And most importantly, I'm going to make the right food choices.
I avoided the dreaded donut this morning. I have not had any soda (yet). I've had an apple, yogurt and water. I'm going to do this. (In my head The Final Countdown is playing. Cue GOB and his illusions.)

Thank you for the compliment. My husband, as you could probably tell, is very fit BUT he came from a meat & potatoes and junk food family. I switched things on him 1 item at a time. Ground beef turned into extra lean, fried chicken turned into shake & bake chicken tenders. When the whole family is home at once I make sure to cook a big meal and I just stick to the meat and veggies, they can eat the carbs and fat if they choose but I don't. I also drink BodyFortress whey protein that you can buy in a huge tub at Wal-Mart. I pop a banana in it, water and ice cubes...turn the blender on and instant breakfast. If I am making eggs I make regular for everyone and then just the egg whites for myself. One thing I have discovered is that if you put the plate of food in front of someone without telling them it's healthy they usually never know. I could go on for days...if you would like to email me some meals you usually eat I could try to help to make them healthier. duffiegrl@charter.net
ReplyDeleteYou can do this! Just the fact you passed up the donut is a huge thing! Eating healthy and just becoming aware of what the heck we put in our mouths is a start! Keep it up!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a pretty day!
